Basically, it all comes back to our Wet Sand Principle™. Every pair of OluKai footwear (including our slippers, of course) is designed to capture the sensation of a barefoot stepping into wet sand.
So picture this: All at once, wet sand cups the heel, fills the arch and splays the toes — molding to the foot regardless of the shape. The cupped heel offers stability and shock absorption. The anatomically correct arch and contoured footbed provide all-day comfort. The toe box allows the toes to spread naturally with no restrictions. That’s what your feet feel like in our slippers.

As a rule of thumb, most podiatric experts recommend looking for footwear that supports your specific arch type, has a contoured footbed, and is built with a strong, sturdy sole. Our leathers are full-grain and come from Gold-Level Tanneries that are part of the Leather Working Group, a not-for-profit organization responsible for the world's leading environmental certification for the leather manufacturing industry. We also use responsibly sourced 100% genuine shearling. Real shearling is softer, temperature-regulating, breathable, durable, and moisture-wicking all at once.
Basically, our materials have all of the qualities you look for in a finely crafted slipper. We use a few other premium materials, too, like heathered jersey cotton, terrycloth, and wool. You can expect unmatched comfort and warmth from them, too.
3. Our Drop-In Heel
Beyond materials, our slippers and house shoes have design benefits that set them apart from the competition. For one, you won’t have to worry about crushing the heel when you throw them on in a hurry.
Why? Because our Drop-In Heel collapses, you can wear any closed-toe style as a slipper or a slide. Many of our slippers also have a removable and washable footbed to help you keep things fresh. Because clean slippers last longer (and smell better).
