For this fall season, we traveled off the beaten path seeking inspiration from Lāna’i the smallest of the inhabited islands of Hawaii. Our Fall 2014 designs reflect the diverse beauty of the island from its rugged backcountry, to its lush pine forests and exclusive coastlines. Lana’i offered the perfect destination to put our raw yet refined new collection to work.
At 7:00am on July 13th, the canoes Hōkūle’a, Hikianalia, and Fa’afaite departed Opunohu Bay, Moorea enroute for Ra’iatea. Winds were light but favorable, blowing in the east. When night hit, the canoes were faced with cloud coverage and squalls. Even after last night, early this morning around 6:15am the island of Huahine was spotted and confirmed by the Hōkūle’a and Hikiananlia. The Hōkūle’a, Hikiananlia and Fa’afaite are enroute to Ra’iatea, just a few miles past Huahine. At the current pace of the canoes, Ra’iatea is only 12 hours away.
