More Aloha For Maui

9/25/23 Update:

We cannot thank you enough for your generosity towards our efforts on Maui Relief in partnership with the Ama OluKai Foundation. Despite ongoing uncertainty, we're inspired by the overwhelming support for Maui. We want to thank you for your help with Maui Relief and share an update on where the funds collected so far have gone.

Update On Maui Relief Funds

Directed Funds to 306 Families: Donated directly to affected families who lost their homes through close relationships in Maui.

Donated OluKai Product: We were able to shift product from our Maui retail stores to affected families and have donated over 1,000 shoes to families in need.

Working with Community Leader Archie Kalepa: Archie has been a member of the OluKai ‘ohana for 15 years. His family is 12th generation Lahaina. He has emerged as a community leader, in the early days setting up an aid station at his home that was miraculously saved, and now working on a plan with local government to re-build Lahaina in the vision of Hawaiians.

Served Over 9,000 Meals via Chef Hui: Donated $50,000 to Chef Hui, an organization set up to keep farmers farming and keep families fed during the pandemic, first movers on the ground in Maui working with local chefs and farmers. They began providing meals 2 days after the fires and are committed to providing locally sourced, nutritional meals to displaced families and schools, using the Maui Community College as their hub.

Neil Kamimura Knife Giveaway: We launched a knife giveaway with our good friend Neil Kamimura for donations.

8/25/23 Update:

Huge mahalo to @tiare_lawrence and the team behind the @lahaina_ohana_venmo page. This enabled us to put your generous gifts in the hands of the families most affected by the fire.

Mahalo to our store teams who have been hard at work collaborating with community leaders like @peahi20ft to provide much-needed footwear to shelters, relief zones, and first responders who have been working tirelessly throughout the devastation.

Mahalo to the chefs and volunteers from @ChefHuiHI, @mauicollegeculinary and @cgcmaui who have been working day and night to serve thousands of meals and deliver them to impacted communities.

We are humbled and grateful for the opportunity to be able to support Maui. Thank you for helping us reach our goal of $300,000 in direct aid through the Ama OluKai Foundation. OluKai will double those funds by matching this amount, and will continue to raise funds to mālama our ʻohana in Maui for the long haul.

We are so grateful to have an amazing community, a true ‘Ohana, that understands the meaning of Aloha. You all showed up in a way that surpassed our hopes and expectations, allowing us to give funds directly back to devastated communities in Maui during our donation event on August 9, 2023. As this fight is far from over, we are working with teams on the ground to determine the most immediate, intermediate, and long-term needs to offer support for the community and Island that holds a special place in our hearts. We have also set up our Ama OluKai Foundation to take direct donations from anyone who wants to share their Aloha with Hawai’i during this incredibly difficult time.

We promise to keep you updated along the way with how your generosity is being put to good use.

Mahalo nui loa, from the bottom of our hearts.
