Hikianalia is the companion sailing canoe of the iconic Hōkūle‘a and summons the wayfaring wisdom passed down by its Hawaiian ancestors to navigate the sea.
Our approach to the sandals we build starts with material. We carefully select full-grain and nubuck
leathers for their warm tones, rich textures, and smooth finishes, not to mention their durability and
breathability. We marry these premium leathers with high-quality materials to curate a look that’s both
sophisticated and relaxed. Heavyweight hand-sewn stitching and laser-etched artwork inspired by the cultural
heritage of the Hawaiian Islands offer handcrafted, refined detail.
These sandals, beautiful in their design and detail, serve to raise awareness of the importance of
voyaging canoes within the Polynesian culture.
Etched detail depicting the proud voyaging canoes, the full-grain leather Hōkūle‘a Kia and Hikianalia
sandals honor the Mālama Honua mission that began with the World Wide Voyage.

Design that Follows Nature – Our Comfort Philosophy
Generous forefoot design allows toes to spread and move naturally.
Anatomical arch support provides comfort and support.
Minimize side-to-side movement, heel cup provides stability and support.
Crafted with premium, naturally tumbled or marbled leathers, every stitch in the Hiapo tells an
authentic story. Using hand-sewn whipstitching inspired by Hawaiian canoe builders and traditional
moko tattoo artwork on the footbed, the Hiapo holds fast to storied details.
From the antiqued, waxed, and waterproof nubuck leather straps with their distinct kapa pattern
emboss to the celestial inspired pod design on the outsole, the hearty Alania sandal features a molded
footbed with micro-texture traction for sustained comfort.
Featuring antiqued full-grain leather and hand-sewn stitching with heavyweight thread, the
artisanal Hoe pays attention to the details, the mark of traditional quality craftsmanship. Hoe’s
leather-wrapped outsole with kapa texture for enhanced grip provides unmatched comfort and
durability, meaning the Hoe feels as good as it looks.
The Nalukai sandal is stylish minimal with a clean, sophisticated look. With high-character,
burnished, full-grain leather that develops a distinct patina as it ages. Nalukai is as refined as
it is relaxed, our approach to celebrating Hawai‘i’s modern urban landscape.
The rustic Paniolo sandal taps into the timeless, upcountry paniolo aesthetic. Distressed full-grain
leather straps, a comfortable hand-sewn leather toe post, and a deeply oiled, high-character premium
leather footbed featuring a soft and beautiful, saddle-inspired micro-stitch design.
Inspired by artisanal craftsmanship, the hand-braided, USA-sourced leather straps on the elegant
Kāhiko sandal reflect traditional Polynesian rope braiding. With soft and breathable full-grain
leather paired with a plush underlay for all-day comfort, the sophisticated Kāhiko is a sandal
with a twist.
